While global sales of the Japanese auto giant are creeping down, the Russian market is showing incredible dynamics. According to the Autostat agency, 1,975 new Toyota vehicles were registered in Russia in February this year. This is an increase of 102% compared to last year!
However, there are important nuances:
- 88% of these machines are not made in Japan, but in China.;
- Russia's share in global brand sales is now tiny, at only 0.25%.
The world picture is completely different:
- Toyota's global sales fell 3.3%;
- In China, the collapse of 13.9%;
- Demand in the Japanese home market has also decreased.
The total is 737.1 thousand cars worldwide compared to last year's figures — the trend is not in favor of the giant.
